Cura Hiring Resources

Cura Hiring Resources is written by the editorial team of Cura, a hiring service in Japan built around workplace visits and trial shifts, for the people who hire at workplaces in Japan. We read Japanese laws and public sources such as the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and set out what they mean for job postings, interviews, hiring costs and subsidies — with sources and dates. Everything here is about hiring in Japan, under Japanese law.

From the editors

Hiring rules in Japan change often, with new legislation and revised subsidies. What we care about is reading the legal texts and public sources such as the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and turning them into something a hiring manager can actually use to make decisions.

Every figure and rule comes with its source and date, and where public sources don't settle a question, we say so. This is general information. For individual cases, check with the Prefectural Labor Bureau(労働局), Labor Standards Inspection Office(労働基準監督署), Hello Work or a licensed labor and social security attorney(社会保険労務士).
