Let candidates see your workplace
before the interview.
Cura is a hiring service in Japan where candidates visit your workplace and try a one-day trial shift before deciding to join. You can show what makes your workplace good — things job-posting terms alone can't convey — on site.
No charge until a visit or trial shift is confirmed.
The Cura app and website are in Japanese.
Hire once both sides are convinced
It starts with a visit or trial shift
Candidates visit your workplace or work a one-day trial shift before deciding to join. They see the atmosphere and how work gets done — things the terms in a job posting can't show.
Meet first, then decide
There is no obligation to hire. After a visit or trial shift, your workplace decides whether to make an offer.
Licenses checked by document
For occupations that require a license, we check the documents the candidate submits.
Telling candidates about both the good and the hard parts of a job before they join (RJP: realistic job preview) has been consistently shown in multiple meta-analyses to reduce turnover, although the effect is small (Earnest, Allen & Landis, Personnel Psychology, 2011: 52 studies, about 17,000 people; correlation with voluntary turnover r = −.07). Visits and trial shifts give candidates a chance to see what the workplace is really like before joining. However, we are not aware of any study so far that directly tests whether visits or trial shifts themselves improve retention.
Four steps to a hire

Register your workplace
Register your workplace details and the roles you are hiring for.
- 2
Receive requests
Candidates send requests for visits and trial shifts.
- 3
Visit or trial shift
Candidates see the workplace and work alongside you, so both sides can check the fit.
- 4
Decide on hiring
If both sides are happy, move to hiring. If it isn't a fit, you can pass.

What kind of hiring service is Cura?
A hiring service where candidates visit your workplace or work a one-day trial shift before deciding whether to join. For employers, it is a chance to check fit before hiring — something that is hard to judge from an interview alone.
What is the difference between a visit and a trial shift?
A visit is a chance for candidates to see the workplace and learn about the work and atmosphere. A trial shift is a chance for a candidate to work with you for a day. For the points to note under Japanese labor law when a candidate does actual work on a trial shift, see our guide "If they work, you pay: trial shifts and worker status in Japan".
Do we have to hire someone after a visit or trial shift?
No, there is no obligation to hire. You can decide whether to hire after the visit or trial shift.
Which occupations can we hire for?
41 occupations, including transport, manufacturing, construction, IT, services, healthcare, long-term care and childcare. Some occupations are still in preparation.
How are candidates' licenses checked?
For occupations that require a license, we check the documents the candidate submits.
When do charges start?
There is no charge until a visit or trial shift is confirmed. For details on pricing, see Cura's page for employers (in Japanese).
